Alma on the Fundy Bay

We made it the Canadian National Park on Fundy Bay. Tides range 28 feet between low and high, the largest difference in North America. Here we are at a lookout spot heading down the ridge towards Alma. Behind us you can see the sea fog heading into Alma.

Moving further down the ridge towards town we were given a wonderful view of the sea fog heading inland. We were also blessed with low tide.

We were able to walk out to the bay floor during the low tide. During high tide we would be twenty feet feet under water from this spot.

Yes it is low tide. All the boats in the harbor rest on the harbor bottom during low tide with carefully placed braces hanging over the sides of the ship where in normal waters you would hang bumpers.

Another wonderful view of the massive tidal bay void of water.

Another view (which we have 100's of photos) show the channel out to see.

Friday Head to the Border

Friday heading to Calis ME. fuel stop. It is always great seeing more than one Airstream traveling together. A nice sunny day just perfect for seven hours drive time.
Well so much for the perfect trip. After traveling over 13,000 over three years we finally had our first tire failure. Not too bad but something we could do without.
We were really lucky with this one. The tire completly delaminated while traveling 65 MPH. Lucky? We had no outer skin damage on our Airstream. There is quite a bit of damage in the belly but the running gear is fine along with the sewer connections. One of the pleasures of the day was that it wasn't raining, something we are not used to!
Sara grabbed this shot and I just love it. It reminds me of a Space Shuttle shot of a blinp heading into space. Sara wasn't too keen on spending the night in a Wal*Mart parking lot but we were joined by another ten RV's for the night in Calis, ME. Hey, it's free!
And the sun sets on a good day of travel despite the tire failure. Tomorrow it's across the border!

PEI Heading North

Thursday night after work Sandi, Sara and I headed up to Mass. to spend the night in the parking lot of a restaurant Sandi always stopped at as a young girl on her way to her Grandmothers.
Getting ready to head out Friday morning after a big breakfast with our caravan friends Skip, Allie and their son David.
While sitting having breakfast we were treated to a wooden moose outside the window. The only moose we saw!
Skip getting ready to hit the road north.
