Friday heading to Calis ME. fuel stop. It is always great seeing more than one Airstream traveling together. A nice sunny day just perfect for seven hours drive time.
Well so much for the perfect trip. After traveling over 13,000 over three years we finally had our first tire failure. Not too bad but something we could do without.
We were really lucky with this one. The tire completly delaminated while traveling 65 MPH. Lucky? We had no outer skin damage on our Airstream. There is quite a bit of damage in the belly but the running gear is fine along with the sewer connections. 
One of the pleasures of the day was that it wasn't raining, something we are not used to!
Sara grabbed this shot and I just love it. It reminds me of a Space Shuttle shot of a blinp heading into space. 
Sara wasn't too keen on spending the night in a Wal*Mart parking lot but we were joined by another ten RV's for the night in Calis, ME. Hey, it's free!
And the sun sets on a good day of travel despite the tire failure. Tomorrow it's across the border!
