Mitchell Corn Palace
The Corn Palace in Mitchell South Dakota.
The outside is redone each year at a cost
of $130,000 using natually colored corns
and wheats from the area.
This is a photo of the very first Corn Palace
back in the late 1800's.
This is what it looked like the year I was
born, 1956. Each year the theme is
different.
The hallways surrounding the interior are
lined with photos of each year.
The Palace is actually a basketball court
and full stage with seating for 100's.
This is the Palace the years Sandi was born.
